Not just a Wireless Network

EIS designed and implemented a wireless connectivity solution for a valued client with unique requirements. Different types of users need different types of access and their access needs to be seamless between the company's three sites.

For Example, a contractor may only access one or two internal company resources and the internet whereas a company manager requires full access to company resources, wirelessly. Security, reliability and manageability are important aspects because of the potentially un trusted computers from temporary contractors and because over 100 users rely on it.

EIS achieved this by using the latest in wireless devices and security, integrating with the current centrally managed security management system and using methods that meant little or no change to the way users previously used company computer systems, minimising user change and enhancing connectivity.

Technologies used: Cisco routers and wireless access points, Telstra business grade internet service provision, Microsoft ISA Firewall, Microsoft Windows 2003 R2 and Active Directory.
